This Red Wing Jug was manufactured by Union Stoneware Company of Red Wing Minnesota – sometime between 1917 – 1930 – This company has a great history and the owner of this piece will share that story for years to come – Originally sporting an elephant ear and birch leaf, this piece now displays the 4 – 4 1/2 inch red wing which has become synonamous with the the history and quality of a company that took its start in the rich red clay of Minnesota in 1876 – The native Americans there worked well with the new German settlers and even named the town, ‘Red Wing’ – I know, you have always wanted a piece like this – well, today is your day – it can be yours!
